Editing is one of those things I struggle to do. Many authors love the editing part more than the writing. They see it as the buffing of a rock into the diamond they always knew it could be. I'll grant them that. Editing does indeed polish up a rough manuscript, but no matter how many times I tell myself that, it doesn't ease the pain.
Editing is tedious, nitpicky, redundant and frustrating. The only time I'm thrilled to be editing is when I see that I only have a few more pages to go. Safe to say that I enjoy the end product much more than the process.
Give me a story to write, and I'm on it, but editing is something I wish I could pass on to someone else. Any offers?
